How to setup a Bell Tent

  1. Lay out groundsheet and peg loosely
  2. Lay out tent canvas using groundsheet to position canvas.
  3. Loop over the tab on base of wall with tie on groundsheet, over the peg.
  4. Don’t peg firmly as they may need slight adjustment after tension has been taken up.
  5. Attach guy lines and peg guys loosely, allowing enough slack to push up central pole.
  6. With door closed push up central pole, take into tent with one section remaining to be connected.
  7. Take up a little more tension by tightening guy lines. and position ‘A’ frame. (held in place by the velcro ties)
  8. Go inside tent and Fold under grey p.v.c. edge and laying edge of groundsheet on top.
  9. The two edges of the flap should be folded around peg to ensure water runs beneath groundsheet.
  10. When satisfied with shape re-tension the guy lines until tight and bang pegs in firmly.
  11. The principles of the optimum pitched bell tent relies on patience and taking up the tension gradually all the way round.

Canvas
Specification
Cotton canvas is one of the most versatile products available and has been used in the manufacture of tents not long after its discovery. Canvas has many advantages over the modern trend of using nylon in tent production. Firstly canvas has much better properties in diffusing heat on a sunny day whilst retaining heat on a cold night when compared with a similar sized nylon tent. Secondly canvas is much more robust and durable than many flimsy nylon structures and is consequently able to withstand much greater adverse conditions and general usage.
Cotton canvas is available in many forms from its 100% unbleached natural state, to many excellent cotton polyester combinations which can provide even greater longevity and enhanced waterproof capabilities.  Windjamma use a variety of canvas specifications depending on the design requirements for the canvas product in question or from a particular client brief. This canvas can then be dyed using the pantone TXT pallet range again to any specified requirement.
